TERMS OF USE · EFFECTIVE JULY 24, 2026
Clear terms for shared money.
FairSplit helps people record expenses, calculate balances, communicate, and create payment requests. It is not a bank, money transmitter, escrow service, lender, tax adviser, or accounting service.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for accurate entries, verifying recipients and amounts, protecting your account and device, and resolving disputes with circle members or the external payment provider.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, receipts, messages, names, and other content you add. You confirm that you have permission to use and share that content. You grant FairSplit a limited license to host, process, secure, and display it only as needed to provide and improve the service for you and the people you choose to share it with. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for limited backup, security, or legal-retention periods.
External payments
Payment links open third-party services such as PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App. Their terms, availability, identity checks, fees, reversals, and dispute processes apply. FairSplit does not receive or control transferred funds.
FairSplit Premium
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are billed by the applicable app store. Trials convert to the displayed paid plan unless canceled through the store before the trial ends. Restore and subscription management use the store account that made the purchase.
Acceptable use
Do not use FairSplit for fraud, harassment, unlawful transactions, deceptive requests, unauthorized access, service disruption, or infringement. Access may be limited to protect people or the service.
Availability and liability
FairSplit is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, FairSplit is not responsible for decisions based on user-entered data, third-party payment failures, lost profits, or indirect damages. Consumer rights that cannot be waived remain intact.
Changes and support
Material changes will be posted with an updated effective date. Questions can be raised through the FairSplit support page or the developer contact option on the App Store listing.
