Information you choose to provide

This can include your account email and display name, circle members, expenses, receipt text, shopping items, messages, photos, reminders, and settings. Contact access is optional; selected names are added only when you choose them, while phone numbers and email addresses stay on your device for the system invite composer.

Payments

FairSplit calculates balances but does not process, custody, or transfer funds. PayPal.Me, Venmo, and Cash App complete transfers under their own terms and privacy policies. Payment handles are kept in encrypted device storage and excluded from FairSplit cloud sync and product analytics. FairSplit never stores card or bank credentials.

How information is used

• Provide circles, expense splitting, chat, reminders, and sync.
• Prevent abuse, protect accounts, and maintain service reliability.
• Measure product use without sending names, amounts, notes, contacts, payment handles, or attachment paths.
• Manage optional FairSplit Premium purchases through Apple and RevenueCat.

Optional product analytics and feedback

Helpful product analytics are off until you choose to enable them. FairSplit sends only allowlisted, coarse product events. PostHog may attach an anonymous app identifier and technical context such as device type and session identifier. A one-time feedback submission uses the same limited transport even when ongoing analytics are off. Names, amounts, notes, contacts, receipt text, messages, photos, payment handles, and attachment paths are excluded.

Aggregate website measurement

On public marketing pages, FairSplit counts daily page views and the first App Store button click for that page. These counters do not use cookies, local storage, user or session IDs, referrers, query strings, invite tokens, fingerprinting, or financial data. Support, legal, invitation, preview, and quality-assurance pages are excluded. Only daily aggregate counts are retained, for no more than 90 days.

Storage and security

FairSplit uses device storage for offline access and Supabase for account-based synchronization. Data is protected in transit with TLS and by provider-managed encryption at rest. Face ID, Touch ID, and Android biometrics are evaluated by the operating system; FairSplit receives only the approval result, never a biometric template.

Service providers

FairSplit relies on Supabase for authentication and sync, RevenueCat and Apple for purchase status, and PostHog for privacy-filtered product analytics. The website uses Cloudflare for hosting, abuse prevention, and delivery; Cloudflare may set a short-lived essential security cookie. FairSplit does not use that cookie for advertising. These providers process information required for their role under their own security and privacy commitments.

Your choices

You can deny contact, photo, camera, microphone, notification, and biometric permissions. You can edit or delete circles and expenses, sign out, and request account or data deletion through FairSplit support. Some records may be retained temporarily for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or backup recovery.

Account deletion also queues deletion of the matching RevenueCat customer record. It does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google; cancel that subscription in the applicable store settings.

Children and changes
